The Autumn

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Autumn, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, stanza 1

Go, sit upon the lofty hill,
And turn your eyes around,
Where waving woods and waters wild
Do hymn an autumn sound.
The summer sun is faint on them —
The summer flowers depart —
Sit still — as all transform’d to stone,
Except your musing heart.

May your heart muse on all the gifts God has bestowed on us … and experience thanksgiving. Check out Psalm 107.

Starting next Thursday, new thoughts, familiar scriptures, Advent.

Blessings, sue
